Getting started
How to use Kipa
Everything from signing up to your first real payment, in plain English. Most people are collecting money within an afternoon.
1. Create your account
Sign up with your email. You land straight in test mode, where you can try everything without moving real money.
- Open onboarding
2. Finish onboarding
Add your business details, verify the owner's ID, and tell us which bank account should receive your money. Five short steps.
- Generate a snippet
3. Put payments on your website
Choose a pay button, an embedded checkout or a hosted link, fill in the price, and paste the generated snippet into your site.
- Create a link
4. Or just share a link
No website? Create a checkout link and send it on WhatsApp, in an invoice or from your bio. Buyers see the payment methods used in their own country.
- View transactions
5. Watch the money arrive
Every attempt shows up in Transactions with the customer, method, fee and status. Search or filter to find any payment in seconds.
- Set up webhooks
6. Automate your fulfilment
Point a webhook at your server so orders ship, subscriptions unlock and receipts send themselves. Always verify the signature before you act.
- Manage keys
7. Go live
Once onboarding is approved, swap your test key for your live key and update the snippet on your site. That's it — you're taking real payments.
Common questions
Do I need a developer?
No. Checkout links need zero code, and the pay button is one copy-paste. Developers get a full API and SDKs if you want deeper control.
How do buyers pay?
Kipa detects the buyer's country and shows the methods they actually use — M-Pesa in Kenya, UPI in India, Pix in Brazil, iDEAL in the Netherlands — plus cards and wallets everywhere. Buyers can override the country at checkout.
Which currency do I get paid in?
You pick your settlement currency. Buyers see prices converted to their local currency, and you can switch the display currency any time from the header.
When does money reach my bank?
Settlements run on your chosen schedule — daily is the default once onboarding is approved. Test-mode payments never settle; they're for practice.
Is test mode safe?
Yes. Test keys can't touch real cards or wallets. Use them until your site behaves exactly the way you want.
